more art

November 17, 2004 · Posted in Uncategorized

Another piece of art – poetry this time – from my new friend here (who is appropriately nicknamed Jesus) – he says it was inspired by our conversations… This time I got to partake in helping with the English translation a bit:

Meditation

By Andrea Cometti (Jesus)

Ask solitude
To teach you about silence

Ask silence
To tell you about suffering

Ask suffering
To show you how to observe

Ask yourself
To learn to live together

Ask yourself
To learn to share

Allow yourself
To be astonished

Know the inebriation
And the sensuality of life
Conscious and mindful of the experience of your limits.

Our lives improve only when we take chances and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves.
